5 Quick and Easy ways to get healthy (and happy!) in 5 minutes or less a day!

  • Use a tongue scraper first thing when you wake up.

    • Known as Jihwa Prakshalana in the Ayurvedic tradition, tongue scraping removes bacteria, food debris, fungi, toxins, and dead cells from the surface of the tongue. You can purchase a tongue scraper at many health food stores (I got mine at Vitamin Cottage).

  • Drink 32oz of warm, lemon water before you eat or drink anything in the morning.

    • Your body is comprised of 70% water, so it plays an important role in its proper functioning. Drinking warm, lemon water before eating anything is a great way to nourish your system from the inside out.

    • It helps create a glowing complextion, renews your cells, balances your lymph system, purifies your colon AND can help you lose weight (bonus!). It's also said to help cure many illnesses and diseases.

  • Set a mindful intention for your day- make it positive!

    • In order to get what you want, you've got to know what you want! Setting an intention for your day will help you cultivate the reality you want to create. If you believe it, you can do it!

  • Meditate for at least 5 minutes.

    • Just find somewhere quiet, sit comfortably and tap into your breath. Nothing fancy- just taking a few minutes to yourself in the morning can do a world of good!

  • Replace your morningcup of Joe with a healthy smoothie (below is what I'm enjoying this month!):

    • 12 oz water

    • spinach- one cup

    • 1/2 banana

    • 1/4 avocado

    • 1 pear or apple

    • 1/2 cup of frozen cherries or berries

    • Blend till smooth!

That's it! Hope you find these little tips helpful! I'd love to hear from you with your personal experiences with these suggestions!
